I want to try something new. A book club of sorts.
More like a “book in a bottle” club, that can float around in digital space and be helpful to anyone that comes across it in years to come. The comments and the gems within them can snowball over time.
I’ll pick a book that has been important to me; create a stack for it and invite all and sundry to give their thoughts and stories about the book in the comments.
My goal is to create a resource for the book, more than a review, so that those that are curious, and awakening, can use it as a steppingstone in their development and increased awareness of how the world works and what’s actually going on.
My only criteria will be that I need to have read it, and that it helped me transition from one state of understanding and awareness to another. Knowing that it could do the same for others.
The first book to start, what I hope will be a high engagement series is Official Stories by Liam Scheff. One of the most important and transformative books I have ever read.
If you haven’t read the book, I would point you to a wonderful book review by Dr. Toby Rogers.
Even while I try to remain agnostic on many of these topics, the overall thesis of the book deeply resonates with me and it goes something like this:
We think that we are modern but we are not. We are still living in the 18th century. And the reason is capture. Nearly all fields of knowledge are captured. Certain narratives — myths that we tell ourselves about how the universe works — are very profitable and they order the power relationships in society. As Scheff writes, “Official stories exist to protect officials.” These stories are not true in any objective sense and anyone with a library card and/or a decent internet connection and a few hours to spend, can figure this out if they are willing. But most are not willing because they would rather live inside the walls that are familiar, even though they are confining. Most of what we consider true is not, rather these are the myths and rituals that support our tribe, same as it ever was (in that sense, perhaps we are not even living in the 18th century, but rather, in more primitive times).
If you have read the book, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Here are some questions just to get the thoughts flowing:
What would you say to someone who has not read it?
How did you come across the book?
How did you feel reading it?
What were some of your main takeaways?
Have you shared it with anyone and what was the response?
What other material of Scheff’s have you come across that would be good to add as links/resources in the comments.
My thoughts:
I’ll get the ball rolling.
I don’t remember exactly how I came across the book. I believe it was via The Real Anthony Fauci, that pointed me to Celia Farber who pointed me to Liam Scheff. Pretty sure that was the sequence.
The first time I wrote about Scheff was in Nov 2022, when writing about Polio, and I’ve written about him many times since.
If The Real Anthony Fauci cracked open my brain and shook me out of my 50 year coma, Scheff and Official Stories (a much shorter book) walked through that crack with a sledgehammer and started to do the heavy lifting of a total knockdown and rebuild. In more areas and subjects than I ever could have thought possible.
Of all the 11 chapters, the one that has had the most impact on me was Chapter 9 about Electricity.
That chapter opened me up to understanding Dr. Thomas Levy and what he is trying to teach the world about Vitamin C and oxidative stress and electrons. It opened me up to accepting the connection between EMF and disease. I could keep going, but you get the point.
My paradigm has shifted in so many domains because of this book.
It, more than any other book, helped me to see and understand how many different domains of knowledge have been distorted/corrupted by the weight of industrial grade financial and political forces, over decades, indeed over centuries.
The chapter on AIDS is in effect a short book, and I think is the best chapter on AIDS ever written.
I was scared to read the chapter on Darwin. I was sure that Liam’s ship would finally come crashing against the hard rocks of Evolution. It didn’t. That chapter combined with what he taught me about The Big Bang and The Electric Universe have given me a far more optimistic outlook on the world we inhabit.
The book has changed the trajectory of my intellectual, psychological, and spiritual development.
I am and will forever be a different person for having read Official Stories.
With thanks to Liam Scheff. I never knew you personally Liam, but I miss you.

I am ready for a second reading. The chapter that lingers in my memory is the one about stars, intersecting points. I don't remember if I learned about the book through The Real Anthony Fauci or Dr. Toby Rogers' recommendation. It definitely blew my mind.
I bought and read Official Stories on your recommendation last February. My only complaint: I wish it had been much longer and covered more subjects. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. He was an amazing thinker.
