This is absolutely brilliant. I'm in the middle, being in my mid 50s, with parents in the same situation you've described. I will, however, point the finger at my own generation - and age group who seem to be the ones making the decisions, at least at the local level. They have left reason at the door, and seemingly been an easy pushover to the control and manipulation of Big Pharma, et al. They have no moral foundation, Machiavellian at heart, and have no conscience when proposing that the very young should be shields to the very old.
So it's complex, it's fruit of years of eroding traditional values and replacing them with woke subversive corruption and playing on base human survival instincts. There's nothing "advanced" about our civilisation I'm afraid - we are the dark age.

I agree with everything you spoke about. I also felt awful that because of my age I would be put in the same bracket as the man you are referring to in your article . I am 76 tomorrow. I have three grown up kids and five grandchildren . My husband left me with three children. All under the age of six. I was from a very poor uneducated background . I lived on state benefits. Life improved when I got further education . But I’ve never really had money to be honest. I still don’t .
I have no intention of getting the jab. Neither do my kids & my grandkids. I encourage everyone I know not to go down that road. Especially getting children vaccinated .Unbelievable.
What this old lady has done is taught her children well & her grandchildren too, .We are all unvaccinated. All on the same page politically . We hate injustices of any kind . Abhor the lies that are being told etc etc . In turn they will bring their children up with these principles too & on it goes. I sometimes despair for their futures. But I live in hope too.
I get that the people you are referring to are different. It just pained me that us oldies are being put in the same bracket. I live in the UK by the way . The politics are a shambles here. While we were all locked down ,Boris Johnson & his cronies were partying . Maybe because they knew it was safe to do so. You couldn’t make it up . Yet still people believe them. I don’t get it. The pressure I’ve had put on me to get the vaccine from close friends is unbelievable. Some of whom have fallen out with me and think I’m bonkers . So be it . It’s so divisive. Which is one of the aims. I’m sure.

At the start I remember feeling absolutely gutted and such utter betrayal, when my own parents (barely 65 and 60yrs) got cross with me, to the point of telling me I had deeply hurt them, when they asked me why my husband and I were not getting the shots. They didn't care about the science and logic I discussed around their and our actual risk, exposure, comorbities and basic immunology and the issues with the shots.
They were focused on why "we wouldnt protect them".
Horrified at their selfishly ignorant response and inability to follow the obvious narrative conclusion, I asked them if they thought my then 6yr old daughter, should have to protect me? I remember with such clarity, the look of hurt confusion in their eyes, at my obvious disgusted and appalled expression, then the guilty glimmer of comprehension and then eyes sliding away, embarrassed, uncomfortable but stubborn, they muttered,
"oh now your being ridiculous, it won't come to that".
I love my parents. I know they adore my daughter and myself.
But frankly, i still can't think about it without being so bitterly disappointed in their cowardice and utter willingness to throw the very people THEY should be protecting, under the freaking bus, in their fearful scramble to protect their lives!!!??
And further on through out this, I have seen nothing but boomers, desperate to cling to immortality, preaching about civic duty, respect for community. Brainwashing and bullying millenials into shielding them. But even worse are the boomers/xgens who are all in the positions of power and public health, forcing THEIR fear and existential crisis on to the children.
I have just wished someone in public media would call a spade a spade and call them out on their cowardice. That is what's kept us all locked in tyranny and pandemia for the last 2+ years. So thank you.
i have a problem with taxation too, but its more the problem of 90% of my tax is wasted, especially on things i disagree with.
tax is theft, a better way would be that we all contribute a percentage to things that we want to fund rather than the government deciding to give it to a bunch of nazis in ukraine
