While the points the Baileys make are important and evidence for viruses is weak and implies official lying I don't think all diseases are environmental and food-related. What about the black death? Why did all the Indians die when Lord Jeffrey Amherst handed out blankets covered with smallpox pus? Why did the Aztecs and Incas die off in the face of a few hundred conquistadors?
