I wish I had known a nurse like her when I had my babies.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words!

I just recently retired December 31 was my last day. I loved my job working with the newborns and their parents. I was asked many times in my career why if you feel this way do you work in a Hospital? My response always was Someone needs to protect these babies ! Thanks again .

Really great. Thank you. It was as if I were sitting in her kitchen having a cup of coffee and listening to her story. Fascinating. God Bless.

Agree, I too really enjoyed the more informal and casual nature of this one.

I’ve never had anyone give me informed consent before any jab for me or my kids. This grandmother deeply regrets every shot our family has had. My girls stopped jabbing their boys at the beginning of 2020. Thank you for the interview!

It's interesting that we were reading the same books around the same period of time. Thank you for doing that interview!

She reminds me of my late mother, who was staunchly opposed to too much pills (beyond vitamins) and gave birth at home, and felt a visceral hatred for dr. Spock (when he was en vogue, in the sixties).

Totally agree on Dr Spock! What a flipping fruit cake that RUINED mothers! It also started this path we now can't get off of thanks to social media where now all these 20-30 year olds know WAY more than their mothers and grandmothers! 🙄 The timeout generation as I call them! Who all have babies that can't sleep or self soothe because of momaroo and baby "straight jackets" crap! Or they hold them all day/night to nurse out in public! In my day we fed and then they went straight to bassinet, on a blanket on the floor, or a swing that'd wake the dead when winding back up! 🤣 We had stuff to do besides holding our babies scrolling their fascistbook all day! Sad...

So do I; my impressions are sketchy, though. I would be surprised if Spock were still an authority figure, but it's likely that his influence drip-fed into mainstream medicine somehow.

On the blanket but on their backs ugh!!! My kids always on their bellies .

Expand full comment
Di Chez's avatar

Who said anything about putting them on their backs?! I always put mine on their bellies with a baby rattle or toy in front of them. Babies on their backs don't cause sids btw...vaccines cause sids!

Tracey RN's avatar

Haha I was being sarcastic. It’s what they tell them now . Very little belly time. Also no blankets or stuffed animals in their crib :( Now we see babies with helmets to reshape their flat heads.

They'll have them standing on their heads before it's all over! Anything to steer people away from the idea baby deaths could possibly be from vaccines! Remember when parents would give their children, for example, a smaĺl finger of mashed potatoes when they seemed ready? Then due to allergies/sicknesses being "supposedly" caused by that it was vehemently pounded into young mothers head to keep their babies on a strict feeding schedule...all prepared stuff from grocery store of course! Which has been through HOW MANY recalls?! Remember when they gave us glass bottles of glucose water to give our newborns in the hospital?! Now that's like a big no no! Never made sense to me! Our bodies are made up of HOW much water and you can't tell me babies don't get thirsty in between feedings?! Which is why most babies eat every 2-3 hrs instead of the 4-5 they should when my first son was born! Oh and we also didn't take our babies in large crowds first few weeks due to their undeveloped immune system. Nor did we believe covering our babies face with a super thin blanket would suffocate them therefore believing to just pop a whole boob out in public was proper nor OUR RIGHT! I read one post where a girl said..."I'm not covering my newborns face in 90 degree heat at the pool!" Like girl what in the world are you doing out in 90 degree heat with a newborn at a pool with no shade ANYWAY?! 😳🤦‍♀️

Key takeaways:

1. When you have a positive negative experience (“I didn’t use it, and I’m ok” or “my parents didn’t go there, and they’re ok”), you don’t need to change your life in any way.

2. But it has to be your EXPERIENCE, not something you read or something you saw on YT. A story from the actual events in the life of your neighbor or friend IS your experience, though.

3. Read empowering stuff. Empowering means giving you inspiration, knowledge and energy. This means that you are building up your own life.

4. Calls to fight, oppose or revenge are not empowering. On the contrary, they will drain you of energy and push you into a space of despair because you do not have power or resources to do this fight and you know it. Those who try to bully you into “fighting for ‘freedom’” know it, too. They will win and earn on you, but you will end up with a split mind. Fighting just because someone else wants you to means building THEIR life at the expense of yours. Of course, you can do it, but be aware of the cost and consequences.

5. Don’t read bad stuff. Bad stuff gives impressions, opinions, references, links to other links, fantasies, theories, fictional stories and a lot of calls to invoke bad, stirring emotions - which will always do you more harm than you can imagine at the start.

6. Don’t read very bad stuff. Very bad stuff provides stories of other people’s successes or misfortunes. Very bad stuff is made up in a tricky way that makes you want more. You can’t stop injecting yourself with one bad stuff part, you need more simply because the story does not give you enough understanding to stop right now and go back to your own life.

7. Value your time. You only have 60 minutes in one hour. You can contribute these 60 minutes to your own life or give them away to others (preferably strangers or unknown bots behind anti-social networks or forum posts). You will end up empty-handed and in a bad debt of opportunities which will never be there for you again.

We adopted 4 yrs olds (2) so they had all their shots and had rough beginnings. We did jab them with almost all because we didn't know any better although they never had a flu shot or meningitis jab and both refused (they are in their mid/late 20's) Covid even though they both work with the public. Proud of them!

Bravo! Too few nurses speak up, give true informed consent, and stand their ground with docs. Nice to hear that your colleagues appreciated you educating them, I found only a very few who really wanted to know or understand the science. Even at university level working with PhD educated nurses, most refused to believe anything negative regarding allopathic medicine. Keep doing what you do…humanity needs more nurses like you!

You are so correct. I have a fellow nurse who I tried so hard to educate. She is working on her PhD and teaching at a local University. Her children were being damaged right before her eyes . She told me once I intimidated her. I was shocked and said over what ? I thought she would say something about her nursing skills on deliveries . Nope it was about VACCINES ! I don’t ever want to intimidate you I replied, just please do the research .
