Superb! I have been a fan of Dr. Levy's for years, but it was hearing Linus Pauling on TV as a kid a thousand years ago that turned me on to Vitamin C.

I found this explanation by Dr. Levy of Vitamin C's mechanism particularly gratifying/edifying. Dr. Levy made it easier to understand how this miracle substance actually works.

I have been taking Vitamin C in "huge" amounts (minimum 5-6000 mg, up to 25-30K when it feels like I might be getting sick -- and then I don't...) for years -- decades, actually.

I take liposomal Vitamin C in capsule form and every other day in gel form: https://www.livonlabs.com/products/vitamin-c I've gone to every other day due to the increasing expense of this gel product. It is expensive in this form, but Dr. Levy recommended it years ago, so I began taking it.

Thank you for this informative, educational, helpful newsletter. I will cross post with strong recommendations to read it -- all of it.

Thanks Unbekoming - Dr Levy is beyond brilliant! You continue knocking it out of the park! I wrote the following in a post I did on root canals in December of 2016. It was fascinating to learn that Levy promotes the position of two of the more famous dentists in American history (although not so much famous because of dentistry), Weston Price and Royal Lee -- over 100 years ago.

"Not quite three years ago, Dr. Levy sent me an autographed copy of his most recent book called Death by Calcium after seeing a post on my site questioning the value of using supplemental calcium to treat osteoporosis. Not only did I read it cover-to-cover, but I did a book review on it as well (see link)."

It really burns me that after being diagnosed with breast cancer and having my ovaries removed, my oncologist suggested calcium supplementation because my bones would become brittle. Our doctors are literally murdering us. Whether or not they realize it.

I'm sorry to hear that.

The hardest thing to come to terms with for most is that their doctor is the key building block of an unhealth system, without even knowing it. It has taken me a long time to wrap my head around just how that is possible and what needs to happen at university to make it so. It has been a system at least 100 years in the making.

Yeah, it's really widespread. I do appreciate people like yourself who have decided to find the truth and talk about it. Obviously there's a risk to doing that.

I can't help but now wonder why vitamin manufacturers and even some of the well-known holistic still sell calcium as a supplement.

That's a good question.

When I asked Dr Levy about why they keep pushing Copper and Iron, he thinks it's baked in ignorance from the 40s.

As for Calcium, he agreed with me in that its industrial, dairy industry, market making.

So, I think that the holistic, vitamin space has either decided to not go to war with Big Milk, or simply had their ignorance "constructed" by Big Milk...take your pick.

But there are some people that should know better. And I hate calling out anyone specifically but Dr Mercola for instance. How about just not selling it anymore? He's got so many other things that are good.

And now that I think about it, aside from selling calcium, his zinc, selenium supplement also includes copper. I buy it regularly but I think I'll stop. There's always that talk of copper deficiency if you take too much zinc. I guess that's not true either since he said your body recycles the copper.

When diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis about 20 years ago one of the medications I was prescribed was calcium/D3 tablets which I was expected to take daily at that time. I've no recollection of why I took them less frequently than prescribed or stopped entirely soon afterwards. Sounds like I did the right thing.

Great interview w awesome information everyone needs to regain or maintain health. I met Linus Pauling many years ago at a conference on Vit C. He changed my health and the course of my life with Lupus. At this conference he and other younger MDs talked about the impact high dose good, quality Vit C (5-20 Gms daily, or more) w bioflavonoids and rose hips has on inflammatory diseases like Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis, rather than toxic drugs usually prescribed. At the time I was talking a handful of such drugs to control lupus, heavy anti-inflammatories and antibiotics just to be able to move and keep my kidneys infection free. They were awful but without them the large joints in my arms and legs became inflamed and painful to the point I could not climb stairs or raise my arms above my head. I decided to be my own N1 research, purchased the kind of vit C discussed and began taking 20 Gms a day. When my prescription meds ran out I did not refill them...and my joints remained pain free and mobile. When my Vit C ran out I didn’t rush, out to buy more, and within a week my joints swelled and I had difficulty walking. More Vit C and quickly pain and swelling resolved. My PCP questioned why I had not refilled the lupus meds, and explained what I was doing. Of course I got a huge lecture that I was destroying my life and I would die young if I continued. Of course I continued my own course and followed Dr. Paulings teachings. Since then I have not had a lupus flare as long as I continue taking Vit C daily; 7-10 Gms maintenance, and up to 25-30 Gms if I feel puny. The really interesting thing tho is that as long as I take high dose Vit C daily ALL my blood tests for lupus are NEGATIVE! However, when I don’t take the Vit C for a few days those same tests (ANA, CRP, ESR) become Positive for lupus and severe inflammation, and I feel terrible. So I will continue taking Vit C daily over ever taking toxic drugs again.

Your story sounds similar to mine. Please tell me the vitamin C formulation that works for you.

At first I went to a health food store and purchased 1Gm Vit C caps that contained bioflavonoids and rose hips. They cost quite a bit at the time. Years later when Costco showed up I did an investigation of its supplement line and switched to its 1Gm Vit C caps w bioflavonoids and rose hips. Works just as well for me, and keeps the swelling of my joints under control…as long as I take 7-10 Gms each day, more if I feel kinda punk.

I know some say liposomal vitamins are the best, and did try formulation for about 6 months. For me there was no difference in how I felt or my labs, so I went back to the less expensive form. As with most things I say to try something yourself and use what works that you can afford. Same applies to nutrition…organic farm raised/grown is best, but you can still improve your health eating what you can afford.

Yes! As AllWays, YOU ROCK THE WORLD, Unbeckoming!!!! Dr. Hal Huggins saved my life in the summer of 1999 when I went to his clinic in MX to have my amalgom fillings removed, and my two root canal teeth removed. Another excellent stack!!!!

I'm curious if it would be wise to discontinue use of a cast iron skillet. I know these leach iron into your diet.

Also, I would love more discussion on magnesium and the best types to consume. I do recall in a previous interview Dr Levy suggested magnesium chloride. Does he still feel that way?

Thanks.

Don't know the answer to the skillet question.

But will definitely be doing an article on magnesium at some point.

Please do! Dr Yoho likes the molecular hydrogen and Dr Levy didn't seem to know about that so maybe include that if you can.

If you have iron overload or adequate iron levels then avoid cast iron pans. If you have an iron deficiency, using an iron skillet may be helpful. Magnesium is available in numerous forms and one that is an overall-use form is glycinate. L-threonate form is good for brain and mood support, whereas citrate can be beneficial for constipation. So the best type depends on what type is best for you.

In another podcast, Dr Yoho talks with Dr Levy and suggests taking molecular hydrogen. Apparently it's a very highly absorbable magnesium without bowel effects. I think I'm going to put away my cast iron skillet. Stick with a stainless steel.

Another awesome interview! I had never heard of Dr. Levy's backstory, but his involvement with Hal Huggins just makes perfect sense. And his experience highlights yet more ways the FDA works to protect the cartel's highly profitable business models.

This was a great refresher for me. Chlorine dioxide is another great oxidizer, and it is easier for the average person to achieve a therapeutic dose with CD than Vitamin C. That's because of bowel tolerance issues with Vitamin C, which are avoided through IV administration (not something most of us can do at home). I found by taking CD that my Raynaud's Syndrome symptoms seemingly vanished. But last week I had a partial temporary relapse and was having a hard time making sense of that. After reading the interview, I suspect it was due to consuming seafood - that my Raynaud's may be due to mercury toxicity. The mercury comes onboard and causes symptoms, then I take the CD and it eventually neutralizes the mercury and symptoms resolve. Of course, too soon to tell if that is the cause or not, but it at least gives me a plausible theory to work with. It also explains the onset of Raynaud's for both my wife and I around the time that we got married. I certainly started consuming more seafood than I ever had as a bachelor. She had always eaten a lot of seafood, because she lived in Florida. When we got married we moved to a four seasons climate and she developed Raynaud's symptoms right away. Perhaps I'm deluded and offbase with all of this. Time will tell. If I'm wrong, the search continues. If I'm right, I've just made a bit more sense of my world.

The bit about hydroxytyrosol and Vitamin C was intriguing. I've gotten to the point where a glass a wine per day is as much as I can consume without negative effects, while my wife could do five times as much and show almost no sign of any problems. She consumes a great deal more EVOO than I do, which by itself might explain a big part of our difference in tolerance. But I'm also wondering if genetically she is somehow better able to transcribe mRNA to produce sufficient Vitamin C? Hard to know, but it is certainly something to chew on for a while. Her maternal ancestry is Mediterranean, whereas none of mine is.

I love CD and its many uses for health. Sadly too few folks know of it…and if they do it has been negated by CDC and government as toxic and close to bleach! Balderdash! They have used it in water to tx and purification plants for years. Also in food production, swimming pools. Sold in outdoor and camping stores for hikers and campers to treat unknown water sources. Yet they want to lie and keep.it from people as a tx and prevention for covid. Arghhhh

Excellent article. Thank you. I have one question: Why do animals that can synthesize C ,and even ramp their C levels up under stress, get sick and die?Could a nutritional deficiency be interfering with their ability to synthesize C, or are there other factors involved?

How much vitamin c should we take daily

Expand full comment

I don't know if Dr Levy will be interacting in these comments or whether you might conduct a follow-up set of questions as a result of this forum, but I'd be interested to know if he has a view on the best form of magnesium to supplement. I took the advice of a Dr Walker (?) on twitter and use Magnesium Glycinate.

Another related question is the presence of vitamin K2 which I was told was an important part of best D3 formulations as it modifies the absorption of Calcium in some way.

Expand full comment

We have the ability to produce 3 of the 4 processes needed to create vitamin c. The fourth process does not work. This was due to genetic intervention by the Elohim to limit our lifespan in order that we would not become too knowledgeable and remain obedient slaves. It may be related to the fusing of the number 1 and 2 chromosomes that makes us 23 chromosome beings instead of 24 like all other primates. The fusing was a very crude method.

Fascinating article, thank you. Lots of information to share with others.

So D,C and Magnesium are highly protective of disease. Is there a Dr Levy recommended dose for these to ensure adequate levels?

We have been told to take Vit c with iron to boost? and it has been constantly promoted to parents to give children ( and women) in particular lots of calcium...... Heaven knows what baby formulas contain these days...

The root canal link with cancer made me wonder if Marc Girardot's Bolus theory /accidental IV injection could also explain this?

Thanks again.
