This is another terrific deep dive. Thank you!

Is anyone aware of a 1-page, flyer style, info piece that could be shared?

Something like "Did You Know?" regarding CBDC's, with a list of bullet points.

I could carry such flyers with me and give them to friends as an introduction.

Sending people informative links, video or otherwise, just causes their eyes to glaze over.

I think we need more "bumper sticker style" entry points on this and other topics. (IMHO)

Good idea. I have added a pdf with text that can be used for that.

This is GREAT! I'm going to printout/handout this flyer, and also use it in an email as I think it is much easier for a "newbie" to take in. THANKS!!!

Everyone talks like this is something we have to accept and it’s not something we can change and it’s just wrong to think that way because in America it’s the people who make the decisions and the constitution and the bill of rights and no where does it say that we have to follow their rules and it’s time for us to stand up together and say we will not comply with their rules. It’s not their choice it’s ours.

Is Bitcoin or other crypto a viable alternative?

Expand full comment

Yes, it could be if it survives as a viable option.

I'm of the view that countries could act against it to prevent it being used as legal tender within their borders.

Question: do you think a banking crisis is the door through which this will be pushed through?

Expand full comment

Yes.

If enough people lose enough money through a "cyber attack" induced banking crisis, that they blame the Russians for, then they can usher in:

Digital ID "to protect you from the next cyber attack"

Universal Basic Income (UBI) as you lost all your savings and "the government is here to help"

CBDC which will be the "money" they use to pay you your UBI. This money would need to be used before it expires, and people will say "it was free anyway" and will not be able to be used on certain "wasteful" items such as carbon generating overseas travel or "hookers"...everyone will definitely agree with the "hookers" exclusion.

Anyway, that's a long answer your question.

There is a lot to be gained from a banking crisis.

Thanks, that is what i fear. Now, will they allow any competition in the form of bitcoin or gold is the question/I think not

I've noticed many places in the US already do not accept cash. I was recently at a sporting event on a university campus and the campus didn't accept cash for concessions. The entire campus is now declared as being cashless. This is coming fast. It's already right at the doorstep and only needs some kind of black swan event, like a financial crash, to usher it in to policy. I think the technology and infrastructure is already in place all around the world.

One form of currency was not mentioned: Ammunition. Ammo is a good metal currency that also functions as threat deterrence. Its can be carried in a weapon or magazine and be easily transacted in moments of emergency, over long distances in higher caliber ammo. Many people already maintain large stock piles of it, and even after use, it can, like a gift card, be re-loaded for use.

When it comes to trading, it can be traded as such:

I’ll pay you five 9mm cartridges for that loaf of bread.

I’ll send you one 9mm cartridge and take all of your bread.

In any event, keeping gold and silver coin is a great idea, and everyone should. But keeping ammunition and a proper delivery system is imperative.
