So the North American Boomer Generation, born anesthetized, often prematurely in those fluoridation experiment cities like Grand Rapids, with atom bomb test fallout already in their tiny bones, bottle-fed formula made from skim milk powder or canned condensed milk and corn syrup with a bit of vegetable oil and powdered iron filings in fluoridated tap water, weaned to Pablum, fed margarine on white bread with baloney and cheese-adjacent Velveeta, eating Hamburger Helper canned peas hot dogs fish fingers, peanut butter 'n jam sandwiches, corn, corn and more corn, drinking frozen condensed orange juice Kool Aid Freshie Coke Pepsi homogenized low fat milk and fluoridated tap water, consuming everything General Mills, Kellogg, Betty Crocker and Aunt Jemima had to offer, getting fluoride rinses at school and lining up there for vaccines with SV40 in them, getting mercury amalgam fillings every year for the new cavities, getting four teeth removed around puberty and orthodontic braces to pull the crowded parrot-beak jumble of teeth into some semblance of alignment, then wisdom teeth removed from the underdeveloped jaws that can't accommodate them, under fluorinated general anesthesia... well, our teeth never stood a chance.
Most interesting and valuable. Two points about phytic acid: (1) Grains, nuts, seeds, and beans are indeed part of the industrial diet but they long pre-existed it. (2) The reason for soaking the above foods before cooking them is to neutralize their phytic acid. Information about why and how to soak is provided on the Weston A Price website. One page for a quick reference is: https://www.westonaprice.org/wp-content/uploads/11Principles-chapter6.pdf .
I went to a "naturopath" dentist and even he wanted me to get a root canal or to extract my "dying" tooth. That was 2 and a half years ago, and I've managed to keep my tooth alive and functioning by using alternative methods. The whole industry is crooked and unethical.
I started writing out a detailed post, but it was getting too long, and my exact circumstance might not match other peoples.
I will mention, that I didn't have the information in the above essay when this all happened, and I will be incorporating additional methods to maximize the above minerals in my diet.
Keep in mind, that I don't know what your specific issues are, so my methods might not align with what you might need to do.
(i had severe enamel/dentin erosion at the gumline on my lower jaw, resulting in a deep cavity and nerve exposure.)
1. greatly reduced my intake of acidic beverages. when I do indulge, I immediately afterward rinse my mouth out, with either salt water or a non-fluoride mouthrinse (I use Uncle harry's).
I try to do the above after every meal, as well (rinse)
you can also use a straw to help avoid exposure to acidic drinks to the surface of your teeth.
2. I use the softest toothbrush I can find and I greatly reduced the amount of time I brush, as I learned that brushing can wear out tooth over time.
I also don't brush side to side or up/down. I only brush in one direction, from the base of the gum to the top of the tooth. It takes practice.
I literally only brush for about 20 seconds, and very lightly.
3. I use a water pick after flossing. it's amazing what flossing misses.
4. I use a toothpaste with Hydroxyapatite (no fluoride) David's brand, which is supposed to rebuild and strengthen teeth. I also bought some in powder form and add it to my mouth rinse. At night, I swish for several minutes and don't drink water or otherwise rinse my mouth out afterward for at least 30 minutes.
5. I chew a sugar free, "natural" gum a couple of times throughout the day. I use Tree Hugger Bubble Gum. I think it helps stimulate blood flow to the jaw area, and it helps to alkalinize the saliva.
6. For a while I rinsed with cod liver oil and concentrated butter oil, as I read that that can help. It seemed to have positive effects, but I quit doing that for other reasons.
7. Activated charcoal is supposed to help. there are rinses and toothpastes that you can buy, or you can buy/make your own.
8. there is a book called "Cure Tooth Decay" by Ramiel Nagel that has a lot of good information in it that I bought and read.
Anyway, that all has helped me maintain the function of my teeth so far. It's been 2.5 years and I don't deal with the pain anymore, other than occasional mild aches that don't last.
I'm planning on focusing on the minerals mentioned in the above essay to, hopefully, help even more.
You are a rock star for writing all of this (thank you!) and for all the work you did getting and trying the ideas. I actually don't need a root canal, but I keep valuable information like this, and also I am going to try some of your ideas anyhow.
Readers, you might know this very well but I would feel better saying that some toothbrushes--those with plastic bristles, and I can't speak about plastic handles--contain PFAS. The packaging and/or the manufacturer's website might specify if they are PFAS-free. One time I contacted a company (GUM) to ask. They said the bristles were nylon, so no problem. However they did not answer the question about the handle.
Thanks, this is excellent material but by age 60 I had a mouthful of crowns, fillings, one bridge and a few extractions. I've radically improved the diet to the point where there seems very little deterioration in the past 12 years.
But if only I could go back 50 years. I'd have a mouthful of almost intact teeth.
By the way, vitamin D and sunshine also have a role. At latitude 52 degrees north, sun cannot be taken for granted.
How can we, of the boomer generation, mitigate the drill and fill we've been exposed to for decades? I guess it's do the best you can with the mouth full of fillings, crowns and root canals. How can teeth have much of a chance to heal with a mouth full of those things? I haven't been to a dentist for a few years except for an extraction 3 or so years ago. I haven't been to a doctor for many years. I put dentists in the same category as drs. I hold them responsible for our collective ruined mouths, being propagandised from an early age. Dentists now, seem to know their profession has historically ruined the health of people past and present but are unable/unwilling to pull the thread that will take down the whole dental industry. On the few occasions I have visited a dentist in last 10 years, with only my knowledge of the amalgam fillings problem, they obfuscate or downright deny the problem. I hold them as a group, responsible for this heinous (IMO) problem of extremely bad advice and practice. I feel very strongly about this as you might notice.
In the natural world, if you are not paying attention, working hard or are a lazy ass; lion, zebra, fish or anything...you are at a disadvantage...
Turns out us human animals are just the same. If we are too naive, lazy or expect a free ride, bad shit happens to us too....I don' think we have even evolved past elephants or dolphins... they don't seem to fuck each over as much as we do!
Great article... well done and thank you for surfacing it into consciousness.
One in a long series of valuable and groundbreaking info(Even though the research was done long ago add suppressed.) I’m upgrading as soon as I figure out how. My phone asap won’t cooperate. Computer/ internet I guess?
You write that all the tubules in a single lower front tooth would be 3 miles long. That is 5280 yards. Then you wrote that a molar contains even more - over 300 yards. 300 is not more than 5280.
In my 60s I have a mouthful of horrible things and one tooth missing. Since I was a kid, I often thought I was cursed with bad teeth. All the procedures for filling them with dangerous chemicals, trying to reshape our jaws, brushing our teeth with poison, eating sugar... were very much in place. We all believed these rituals were good for us.
Thank you Unbekoming, this is one more episode that shows there is not one part of our humanity, physical, psychological and spiritual... electromagnetic - that ought to be in harmony with Nature and the Universe - that is not precisely under attack by the powers that shouldn't be. Getting deeper into all these rabbit holes is gut wrenching until it starts making sense. They fear what we really are and their goal is to destroy us.
More proof that doctor's incomes are FAR more important than patient outcomes.
Whenever insurance is involved, that is the way it has always been. And always will be.
Name the siloed specialty, the result is always the same. Preserve expensive procedures, regardless of how ineffective and harmful they are.
The 50-year wars on heart disease and cancer prove that. Which is why five decades of research and billions of dollars spent have barely moved the needle on the two diseases most likely to kill the majority of us.
The outdated barbarism must be protected at all costs.
Divert some of that ill-gotten gain into marketing, to convince people that doctors are benevolent gods-in-white-coats. And divert some into punishing anyone who foolishly thinks that patient outcomes should come first.
Most insurance-reimbursed healthcare is an abusive relationship. Stay away, except for trauma care and dire emergencies. Even then, don't make decisions solely based upon their fear-based marketing. Think for yourself and take reasonable, informed risks. Those risks are usually smaller than the ones you'll encounter inside the system.
Educate yourself and you'll be better off. You have both a health incentive and a financial incentive to do so.
Or be a victim, and believe the corporate propaganda that your disease can only be treated (never cured) by the gods-in-white coats.

Would you tell more about your methods?
Sure, I will briefly go over what I've done.

...best be careful with that David's brand--lotsa lead & arsenic.... perhaps others do the same without it?

thanks for the heads up. yeah, I should probably just make my own toothpaste. I have the ingredients to do that myself.

Phenomenal! Our bodies really are miraculous...if only we learned how to stop interfering with their capacity to function well.

I couldn’t agree more Aliss! It’s disgusting but I’m so grateful for all this information. So many “clueless” dentists out there. THANK YOU!!!

One of my favorite topics thus far!
300 yards = 0.17 miles
I would assume this applies to gum health also.
Wow-wee! Thank you!
