I was introduced to cell salts when I was a young mom in the '80's, when I bought a Luyties kit and a $3 book--The Biochemic Handbook--at a local healthfood store in Aberdeen WA. We had no health insurance at the time, and a colleague recomended I alternate Ferrum Phos and Kali Mur when I was dealing with chronic recurrent bladder infections. A few doses, it cleared, I haven't had one since. I learned the system and raised my 7 children on tissue salts. So grateful for learning this system early in life!

I love cell salts. I started with Schuessler brand and moved to another two brands. Hylands are smaller and dissolve quickly. Jacksons doesn’t have magnesium stearate. Schuessler changed the way that they make them and they tasted weird and were a very crumbly and gross texture so I stopped using them. I do have the handbook by Schuessler, which offers the right remedy for each health concern. I think these products are by far number one and reading this article reinforces that have health problems because we are lacking minerals in our body.

I find it interesting that they say the homeopathic remedies are effective because water has memory. Water is very special on its own and has special properties so I have no doubt that Water has memories and these remedies are also effective.

One of the homeopathic remedies we’ve tried, such as thuja, worked well to eliminate the warts on my daughter’s hands. Maybe the warts were caused by a deficiency in one of the 12 salts??

I am so thankful for this article, it has caught my attention a few years ago - with regard to the Laws of the Luminaries by Nicole Murphy. She describes how the rotation of the sun and moon affect which salts are prevalent in the environment and each one tracks with the 12 signs of the zodiac. When the sun is in Taurus, as it is now, I take Cell Salt 11. When the sun makes it to the next sign (I have a chart), I will take the next salt for those 30 days. As Unbekoming recommends, I also incorporate proper diet and terrain - as best as I can. Sometimes we have to have ice cream.

I think there is zero chance they work as stated , yet all my family swear by them and think they are working. I would imagine the horrible plastic tubes they put them in nowadays are doing more harm than the pills are correcting to be honest, but they seem to make my family feel happy and well so good luck to them.

I don't understand your absolute refusal to accept that there's even a chance that tissue salts could be beneficial to human health. Human existence depends on electro-chemical balance where neurons signal each other based on thresholds of tens of millivolts. These reactions, in turn, rely on electron transfers that depend on trace minerals for their execution. Trace minerals have become depleted due to modern agriculture that deems them irrelevant to plant growth, but these processes literally could not exist without those trace minerals. I think further investigation would be beneficial to your understanding. I agree that the plastic tubes ought to be glass with a non-plastic stopper.

The notion that the body can take a minute almost non existent signal from a sugar pill, yet not be influenced by all the other trillions of minute signals being given out by everything else all the time ..

I mean it could be a ritual spell whereby the idea causes someones body to focus closely on that specific experience on the tongue .. it could inform the body in a highly focussed way potentially ..

In my case I prefer to be in control of my own placebo effect and self-heal by thought and meditation alone. I dont need a ritual therapeutic substance.

My body does need actual minerals though , in large amounts, so I tend to use my money for good food rich in minerals.

Bob Bichen's avatar

Well we're certainly not discussing large amounts of actually minerals here. Every body (and everybody) needs adequate trace minerals of a wide variety to function correctly. Getting good food rich in minerals is getting more difficult every year. Lax organic standards can even disallow it. I agree the mind is very powerful in healing, but it can't will necessary physical materials into your body or transmute ones that are there into the ones you need.

Yeowoman's avatar

I use a full range of actual minerals , in food form as much as possible , but I don’t need the tiny ‘suggestion’ of a mineral in a sugar pill. It is verging on homeopathy at that point, for me.

Until this article I did not know what tissue salts were. My dog is receiving calcarea carbonica (CaCO3) from a homeopathic vet. When I looked it up, it stated a pattern of stunted growth, similar to calcarea phosphoricum. I am supposed to succuss it 10x, then take 4oz of distilled water, drop in 3drops, then stir it for 10 seconds. Then administer 1 ml to him.

He has shown some improvements, but I'm wondering if I should just ditch the vet (she is costing me $100 a month) and try tissue salts. I'm also wondering if the Standard Process male formula is the reason why he's getting better and not the homeopathic remedy. The vet knows about the Standard Process formula and recommended it. The reason is that I have seen zero improvements in his snoring and other signs of sinus congestion and marginal improvements in energy levels. I have seen some improvements in joint pain, and some in burping (both less).

Definitely try tissue salts. What foods do you give him and what symptoms does he have besides snoring, sinus and low energy?

eileen's avatar

Nothing other than those

eileen's avatar

He eats fresh, usually DIY with recipes from a TCM-trained vet who knows quite a bit about nutrition. It helped immensely but tapered off late last year. Sometimes, when I need a break from cooking, I feed him freeze dried raw. No kibble, not even treats. Now I use recipes from the same vet except that it is seasonal, so winter, he got a lot of meals to support the kidneys; now spring he gets a lot of liver friendly/ support recipes. In late May, he will get fire recipes and herbs. In August, he'll transition to more pancreatic, spleen support recipes, then around the energetic start of fall, he'll get more lung (metal) recipes with herbs. Very little supplements and almost no synthetic vitamins. Sometime, I will give him a vet-modified OTC proprietary Chinese herb, until I see improvements, then stop for awhile. The vet who sells them treats them like pharmaceuticals and so far they have worked. I'll start my favorite one in late July or early August.

That's good, do you feed him much raw? Try him on Calc Phos, Kali Sulph and Nat Sulph. You can crush a tablet and add to his food

.....VERY-insightful element as relates to life's NATURAL support, through PIEZOELECTRIC communicative processes - but, AS someone who has experienced SPECTACULAR successes as a homeopathic patient for almost three decades - and confidently IDENTIFIED the PRECISE mechanism of its action, NEED to CLARIFY some MISPERCEPTIONS: it operates [in SIZABLE part] WITH such efficacy by what I refer to as the,'diminution paradox' - LEAST amount of remedy MATERIAL requiring biological RECONCILIATION, particularly where non-active PROPRIETARY ingredients of SYNTHESIZED pharmaceuticals are concerned.....TELLING aspect though, is Hahnemann's 'SUCCUSSION' step - WHICH when NUMBER of impacts are INCREASED, produces a denser ELECTROSTATIC shell that MAXIMIZES precise-RESONANT potential communicated to SPECIFIC pathways, systems.....

Hayat Bain's avatar

I’d love to learn more about this piezoelectric aspect and succussion. Do you know of any good references?

LONG In The TRUTH's avatar

Hi, Hayat - apologies it's TAKEN me a bit to reply; day's just been WEARYING, at my age - immediately had to battle with Eversource here in MA (they're reneging on waiver of $42 SMART meter switch-out [mine's NOT 'radio-equipped']) contact state's DPU concerning it, and try reaching MULTIPLE elected officials about VARIOUS bills (CT's H.B. 5514) that are PRONOUNCED threats to our existence.....ANYhow, let me see if I can get you SPECIFIC links to 'A Midwestern Doctor's Substack columns before long; he detailed MUCH about HOW what I refer to as, 'zeta potential pH value reversibility', determines quality of our lives (related: as an independent theoretical physicist, I have that a pressure DIFFERENTIAL gauge, allows for the [primarily] solar [wind] INFRARED-radiational photosynthesis-piezoelectric-cohering PARAmagnetism conversion dynamic.....)

Looking forward to more…

[.....still] WORKING on it, Hayat - SO much has happened since my last reply.....

I've been using them since the 80's, starting with family and then with my clients. There's been a lot of research since Schuessler died and there are now 36 salts. Pfluger sells up to number 27 in Australia

Prof. Exley, phenomenal article. I started using the cell salts during the lockdowns - thanks to the documentary series "The Viral Delusion." I also read and edited the book by Carey & Perry (1923) on the Cell Salts. I will share this work with my students - we are studying arguments and logical fallacies. It is nice to see when someone does not use them! Bravo!

I use the Schuessler salts on various conditions and find them very helpful for recovery and support during issues with blood, bone and sinuses.

Our family used to see a German trained homoeopath during the 80s and 90s. He made his own drops and pills and they worked an absolute treat on all of us, including the cats.

Interestingly, he also used a Radionics machine to diagnose and heal conditions from a distance via what was termed 'broadcast'. Also used the machine to 'load' solutions to be placed under the tongue.

We moved afar and eventually he passed away many years ago and all his work and the machine with it - no one had the training to take it on.

I use “best made” brand in glass bottles. I take the one for nerves before bed when I’m stressed and anxious and it puts me sleep as if I took a sleeping pill, it’s amazing! Husband was skeptical but he tried it and it worked for him too

Leynia's avatar

The salts are widely available outside the US. Hmm. How dies one circumnavigate that?

HMP's avatar

Jackson’s cell salts can be purchased directly from the manufacturer or at Amazon. I am in the US and had no issues buying direct.

Thank you for replying, HMP!

iherb sells hylands, you can probably buy others online from europe or australia

I pick up my Mothers' remains this week. Were it not for the man made fibers, her belief in Vaccines and the shear weirdness of the idea.... it occurs to me, she'd make a particularity nutritious broth....

Okay so I live in the US. I have used Hyland’s for my 20 month old since he was 6 months old using cell salts because that’s the only thing allowed to give an infant for colds and congestion. Our GP told me cell salts are legitimate and he’s not a homeopath. So this article caught my attention. I found some 12-in-1 for everyday use. Should I also be taking Celtic sea salt and Quinton plasma?

I've used Bioplasm but didn't know the background of it. Good article.
