Maria Zeee just conducted an interview about the impending Queensland legislation to prohibit doctors from “undermining pubic confidence” in state-provided services:
I'm so sorry you suffered so egregiously in Australia. Remember...please always remember that only through the uniformed thugs can enforcement of these criminal edicts take place. The uniformed, dumbass thugs who merely follow orders. They deserve our relentless repudiation.
As a nation founded by convicts and guards..we appear to have genetic seeds of following orders, compliance, and marching in lockstep with what our leaders demand..the fact that the Victorian govt will be voted back in says it all...and never forget the Victorian opposition..never said boo..the whole time..I remember seeing one clip of them..they were parody clones of accountants with glasses...with the required removal of personalities..(apologies to accountants)
And yet over here in the "exceptional nation" founded on the ideals of individual liberty and freedom from government, we have more than our fair share of uniformed dimwits. We suffered with these dimwits responding to other dimwits who called them to issue "citations" for "trespassing" in places of public accommodation for declining a medical intervention (snot pouch) as a condition of entry, which is illegal. But no matter...Grandma might get a respiratory infection, so human rights? Basic...human...rights? Out the window in the "land of the free and home of the brave".
Here is a quote from the substack Dystopian Downunder regarding the IPA's report on Australia's covid strategy :
the direct economic, fiscal and inflationary cost of pandemic measures stand at $938.4 billion as at the end of the 2021-22 financial year. The authors calculate the total cost of Australia’s pandemic response by assessing net direct economic cost ($2.49 billion), government spending ($595.8 billion), and the cost of inflation arising from zero-covid measures. This estimate is conservative, as it only accounts for direct costs.
So good to hear Australian stories and that those who are awake understand that we are a breath away from it happening all over again. We do need to be vigilant wherever we live in this country. I live in QLD where we got off relatively lightly but there are plenty of indications that our Anastasia was preparing for more extreme measures. I do wish that Dictator Dan wasn't likely to get in again. Victorians seem to be experiencing a mass Stockholm syndrome effect. I know quite a few people in Melbourne and it is disconcerting when I come across it in some form. When it's one of your best friends it's heartbreaking even when you can put it aside and still be friends.(-:

Stupid people syndrome Ray. Tbh though, we had general election few months back, changed the ruling party (they're as bad as each other but, maybe for worse) the independent/freedom parties candidates were clearly swindled in many instances. But, of course never underestimate
the stupidity of public at large. It all rests on that. The things must get
much worse before they wake tf up. But by then it may be too late.
No matter for whom you vote, a politician gets in. They fool us into thinking they will represent and look after the electorate whilst in reality they look after the big end of town. Labour or Liberal, different sides of the same coin.
