"There has been a spike in global temperatures as measured by the satellites since April last year.
"This satellite record is relatively short, only beginning in 1979, there remains much regional and seasonal variability in this data. Furthermore, the same satellite data very clearly shows that the warmth is coming from a particular part of the ocean, not from the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
"The warmth is from the equatorial Pacific with a two-month lag before we see the same extent of warming in the atmosphere."
Till now, uninformed as I am, I have followed Javier Vinós who attributes the 2023 to 2024 warming to stratospheric water vapour from the Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha'apai eruption of 15 Jan 2022. Quite likely your view is better. Nevertheless, I like Javier's work. Do you have any thoughts about his work? Could you bring your presently expressed view to his attention? Perhaps you have already done so?
A great post on a very confusing subject, thanks!
Thank you
When "Money" is the prime motivator of all human activity, "Truth" becomes irrelevant.
I would like to speak personally with this Lady to learn more and compare observations with Coastal British Columbia.
Thank you for taking the trouble to dig into all these fascinating subjects and this one in particular.
I hope Dr Paul Hardisty Australian Institute of Marine Science… charged with saving the Great Barrier Reef ... learns about Dr Jennifer Marohasy.
Jenn, you express the following view:

Jennifer is as resolute with the highest qualities of science as she is committed to integrity.
A great read. I was saddened to read that Peter Ridd is practicing sloppy science he used to complain about.
