I would add adherents of a low salt diet could end up with acute Cushings disease after years of using the emergency / stress hormones, aldosterone, cortisol and adrenaline to conserve and scavenge for salt to maintain blood pressure and volume.

Another excellent essay. Thank you.

If you haven't already seen it, I highly recommend a two-part documentary series called Statin Nation. What especially struck me when I first watched it were the comments from the late Dr. Paul J. Rosch who was Chairman of the Board of the American Institute of Stress , Clinical Professor of Medicine and Psychiatry at New York Medical College, and Honorary Vice President of the International Stress Management Association. He described images of energy around the heart when someone was relaxed and content compared to when they were stressed and/or anxious. It was fascinating to hear this coming from someone who appeared so august and conventional.

Since vitamin K helps the blood to clot, presumably if should not be taken as a supplement by those with any of the contributing factors described by Dr Kendrick.

Thanks for all this research. In my studies I found it interesting to note that heart attacks increased after the 1950s in a big way, when radar was introduced.
