Blood tests are reliable; saliva is not, and there are standards for proper levels. I explain in Hormone Secrets. Free download here: https://dl.bookfunnel.com/p7dvqow83g

Unfortunately, Mercola's reliability has dropped to zero. In the past six months, he has reversed course on many of his important themes. He is now focused on how estradiol causes cancer, but when it is adequately opposed by progesterone, overall cancer rates drop below the baseline of untreated patients. He hates grounding, and I could go on, but why bother? I ghosted him.

Progesterone should never be used for men because it stimulates coronary disease. Using it for men is a major misconception.

That is true on Dr. Mercola. I followed him many years ago and have watched him change like as if he lost his bearings. I knew a lady that had a nervous breakdown and she changed from level headed to doing weird things, way off the wall things. This is what I thought of while listening to Dr. Mercola changing his 'used to be' level thinking. I do not get his information any longer because it became unreliable. It almost made me not read this when I saw he was associated with the article.

Thank you for stating your information Dr. Yoho. We do appreciate your opinions.

My 2-cents from personal experience:

No disrespect intended to the litany of experts mentioned here. However, I went down the road of natural progesterone supplementation during perimenopause. Seems to help at first, then things got worse.

I later learned from my (truly) holistic provider that messing around with hormone supplementation (natural or otherwise) is not a great idea. (Useful in specific cases, but not as a broad self-medicating solution.)

The reason for this is that the "command center" for hormones (hypothalamus) is constantly re-adjusting the hormone levels. Add a bunch of progesterone, and it will start churning out or turning down other hormones in response. Start adding hormones willy-nilly, and the hypothalamus will start adjusting accordingly. It's like playing a game of Wack-A-Mole. What needs to be restored to balance, where possible, is the command center.

I had a similar experience and I tried all the different forms and dosages based on saliva and blood tests. It's what led me to homeopathy. I tried it for a year, first progesterone only, then with estrogen. I ended up so overdosed, with my tissues saturated with hormones and horrible joint and muscle pain and blood sugar issues that I never had before supplementation. I had two pinched nerves in my back and could barely turn over in bed. I later was diagnosed with severe Electromagnetic Poisoning which definitely causes hormone imbalances. This woman's story mirrors my experience that started during the Convid shutdown, https://mdsafetech.org/2019/07/18/book-review-all-emfd-up-my-journey-through-wireless-radiation-poisoning/.

Testosterone is the only hormone that women should use as a sole agent. It's safe, and part of it gets converted to estrogen.

Homeopathy has been using testosterone in the form of a Sarcode called Orchitinum, here is the materia medica, it is used for women in menopause. I like it because it is the natural form rather than the synthetic, single protein. I have taken both Folliculinum and estrone, and they definitely feel different. https://www.materiamedica.info/en/materia-medica/john-henry-clarke/orchitinum

Thank you for responding to my comment. I will try testosterone in a homeopathic dilution and see how it feels. https://www.helios.co.uk/shop/testosterone

How do you do this? I did the same and it made things worse. I thought I started menopause, and the cream really helped with symptoms. Now I am ending a very long very heavy Menstruation cycle and wonder if I messed my whole system up. So again, how do you reset your master control center? Thank you for any advice-

I have a terrific wellness guy who got it all straightened out.

Just a suggestion:

Look for a chiropractic/wellness doctor that graduated from the Palmer Institute. They've been teaching true holistic medicine for many decades. (You don't have to buy into chiropractic adjustments ... many of them do comprehensive wellness consultations in additionto traditional chiropractic care.)
