Something weird is going on.
McCullough goes on Rogan and emphatically, and rightly, defends natural immunity with his now famous (becoming infamous) One and Done defence.
This was Peter from 27th June 2021[1], that he repeated on Rogan:
“I have demanded that if any one proposes a recurrent case the following are fulfilled: 90 days between the two illnesses. The episodes have both cardinal signs and symptoms with SARS-CoV-2 testing with at least two or more concordant results (e.g. RT-PCR, antigen, sequencing). To my knowledge, this has never happened. On one of the occasions the first or second episode was simply a false positive PCR or ambiently positive antibody result with no clinical syndrome.”
And then shortly afterward Rogan, Peter writes:
Omicron Breaks Through Natural and Vaccine Immunity in a Battle Against Delta - America Out Loud
It’s a very short article, let’s look at a couple of sections:
As we were coming down from the formidable Delta outbreak curve, there was hope that natural immunity and whatever meager herd immunity that could have been building from mass vaccination would bring the COVID-19 pandemic to a low simmer.
“…there was hope…”, what are you talking about Peter, days earlier you told the whole world about One and Done.
Instead, we have witnessed two months of building and now explosive epidemic curves all around the world with Omicron, the most highly mutated form of SARS-CoV-2. It is now clear that Omicron can infect those with previous COVID-19 infection and natural immunity, as well as those fully vaccinated, and of course, the smaller fraction of individuals who are COVID-19 naive.
Here Peter is saying that it IS a mutated form of SARS-Cov-2, but it’s a “highly mutated” version.
OK, stop the press…Dallas (where Peter works) we have a problem!
Again, something weird is going on.
Oddly enough, Peter refers to Dr. Paul Alexander at the end of his article. More on him later.
Let’s take a sideways journey for a moment before we circle back.
To call me an amateur at all this immunology and virology stuff would be an insult to all amateurs. So, with that qualifier, this is what I have come to know and understand as “true”.
Natural immunity against coronaviruses is real and enduring.
Natural immunity against SARS-Cov-1 is real and enduring. People today who were infected with Cov-1 still have T-Cell immunity 18 years later.
When our immune system sees the whole virus, it can deal with up to 30% variance (or drift), and the virus drifts by about 0.3% per annum (Yeadon). So, just on that simple maths it is reasonable to expect our immune system to contend with the variants of a drifting virus for at least a decade. This was true as the virus drifted from Alpha to Delta.
So, if these points are true, then how can Omicron, in the space of a few months go from being totally within the combat capability of our natural immune system, to entirely outside of it? How can Omi drift by more than 30% within months?
Well, this amateur is going to go out on a limb and say: It cannot.
Even with jab induced pressure, I don’t believe it can change to that degree.
So, here is my thesis: If Peter is right, and Omi is evading our natural immunity, then it is NOT a “highly mutated form” of the virus, but a different virus altogether. There, I said it.
And if it is a different virus altogether, where the hell did it come from. I think that a lab is a very plausible answer. We know that Alpha came from a lab, why would it be a stretch to think that Omi came from a lab too?
Let’s go to Botswana where this story started.
This from the governments press release:
Omicron Origin: How Is This Not Being Discussed?
“was detected on four foreign nationals who had entered Botswana on the 7th November 2021, on a diplomatic mission. The quartet tested positive for COVID-19 on the 11th November 2021 as they were preparing to return.”
And this in Africa Times:
Botswana: Omicron found in foreign diplomats, but visiting from where?
If you are wondering, where these four gentlemen came from, the most likely answer is China. The silence on the nationality of the foreign diplomats is deafening. Imagine if they were Swedish, do you think there would such silence?
Here are some quotes from mainstream sources:
Omicron "variant" likely to be man-made
However, the omicron variant appears to have derived directly from the original SARS-CoV-2 virus, one that has not been observed in the wild in months. — Washington Times
In other words, while scientists can tell that this variant evolved from a strain that was circulating in mid-2020, in the intervening months there's been no trace of all the intermediate versions that scientists would have expected to find as it morphed into its current form. — NPR
Some thoughts on Omi as a lab production:
Omicron as a Bioweapon: Thoughts and Implications
What is novel to the late 20th-21st century is the ability to intentionally develop virii and genetic modeling.
Anyway, we see that:
· Omicron was lab-developed
· It is spreading unusually rapidly
· It appears mild
· It targets certain groups (we know it targets the vaccinated)
And more again:
Omicron is Not Normal - eugyppius: a plague chronicle
Everything suggests this variant was leaked from a laboratory engaged in gain-of-function research.
Omicron is not normal. No immediate progenitors are known; its closest relatives are viruses last seen in early- to mid-2020. The orthodox explanation for this awkward fact, is that it has spent the last 18 months lurking “in a geography with poor genomic surveillance … or … in a chronically infected individual.” The simpler explanation is that it leaked from a laboratory.
Here is Robert Malone (2 Dec 2021) talking about Omi and the possibility of lab manufacture.
Was The New Covid Variant Manufactured?
Robert said, “…this is so different from the other strains that are being tracked, it’s like it’s in its own evolutionary branch…”.
Robert tiptoes around the subject of “manufacture”, he doesn’t want to touch it even saying he’s “not qualified” to comment on that issue. Sigh.
Malone on Rogan recently upheld the McCullough thesis of natural immunity fail:
RM: By the way since we were down this little rabbit hole let me just say one thing: Peter called me he said, “Robert make sure you talk to Joe and make it clear that although I spoke clearly and forcefully about one and done when I was on his show that was before Omicron.”
JR: Yeah.
RM: And so, Peter wanted me to make sure that your audience knew.
So, Malone also threw his weight behind McCullough’s denial of natural immunity against Omi, while remaining silent of the implausibility of Omi being an evolutionary extension of Delta. Real shame.
I think I now why they are doing this. They have snookered themselves.
They want to talk to the broadest audience possible, to help wake up as many people as possible, and Rogan is that audience. We all want them to do this, how else can we wake up the important middle.
There message needs to be palatable to that middle, any hint or conspiracy, any hint of “tin foil” ideas, any hint of “bio weapon” talk, and the middle tunes out.
This means that they cannot talk about Omi being essentially a new virus, likely made in a lab.
The price they are paying for this communication strategy is to throw natural immunity under the bus. In the grand scheme of this battle, I think it’s a flawed strategy. They might keep the middle listening for a bit longer, but they are sacrificing the truth and their credibility in the longer run.
And lastly, this from Dr Paul Alexander dated 30 Dec 2021
My BROWNSTONE op-ed on the chance of re-infection with COVID virus with consideration of OMICRON
In terms of Omicron, we are not seeing data or evidence to conclude that natural immunity has been breached. In fact, we believe, unless we are shown otherwise, that natural immunity has indeed held and worked marvelously. Based on the reported symptoms and sequelae, it can be considered an immune “rechallenge” and not a bona fide reinfection.
Based on current evidence, natural immunity is doing its job and innate immunity and natural immunity are working hand-in-hand and Omicron shows us this. The role of innate immunity is to protect as the first line of defense and typically completes the task and especially in children and young persons.
-
We have to continue examining this issue and be open either direction. However the in toto evidence points to a rarity or suggests it is very limited, and potentially unlikely happening at all.
I am choosing to side with Alexander on this one. To my mind, here is what I think is most likely true:
· Omi was made in a lab
· Omi is closely related to very early strains
· If you have had Covid, early or later strains you still have high quality immunity against Omi
I think that McCullough and Malone are unfortunately wrong on two accounts.
They are wrong to throw natural immunity under the bus for the sake of broad audience reach, and even more surprisingly I think they are wrong on the technical point of natural immunity breach.
[1] My BROWNSTONE op-ed on the chance of re-infection with COVID virus with consideration of OMICRON
I agree, that Omnicron is different enough that it should be called another name. Almost everyone I know Has Omnicron, which is basically a cold. I had Delta in September and caught Onmi over Christmas, as did our whole family that stayed in the mountain cabin together. No one in our family is vaccinated and we all have had COVID. No big deal. In fact everyone is so over all this political BS that no one is locking down, staying home or isolating. Sign of the times, like it or not, but it’s time to put this all behind us, get herd immunity, vaccinated or not, stay healthy and live life.
Going back to the flu, and flu season, and flu and cold season, and the fact that most coronaviruses are merely colds,
I was always skeptical that you could get covid once and be done forever. For a long time, sure, maybe. But 20 years?
I like Eugyppius' retrieval of an explanation suggesting that different birth cohorts get different influenzas depending on which one is circulating as that cohort comes of age and is exposed. Then each individual in that cohort has long-lasting immunity to re-infection by his "first" influenza virus, but not necessarily to other influenza viruses... And yet successive cohorts form layers, achieving herd immunity that protects any one individual in any one cohort from annual challenge to all the other influenza viruses.
But are we really ever once-and-done with our first influenza? Can we "collect them all"? That said, I haven't had the flu in 40 years.
So the same with colds, or coronaviruses.
I assert the entire edifice of covid shots and boosters was built explicitly upon the existing edifice of annual flu shots and boosters for everyone over 65 in the United States. They form a huge cohort that has been well-trained for twenty years to roll over on command and get shot and get boosted every year. Why not twice a year? Three times? More boosters = more protection = delay death. And it was all too easy to sweep younger folks into this scam by telling them they were going to kill granny if they didn't also get shot and get boosted.
